The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation awarded Ames Federal Contracting Group a $115.9 million contract for the construction of a new spillway at Hyrum Dam in northern Utah.

Built in 1935, Hyrum Dam plays a crucial role in storing water for irrigation and municipal use. Despite continuous maintenance, its 90-year-old spillway needs to be replaced. Ames will also replace the dam’s outlet works piping with larger piping, which will increase the outlet’s discharge capacity from 50 to 200 cubic feet per second.
